The Johnstown Historical Society’s museum is the 1914 Craftsman-style bungalow that town founder Harvey J. Parish built for his family on Charlotte Street. The main floor recreates life in the early 1900s with the Parishes’ furniture, clothing, photographs and letters; the garden level has exhibits including a piece of the meteorite that fell on the town during a funeral in July 1924 and a handcrafted centennial quilt, and a visitor centre makes it accessible without stairs. Free, donations welcome; open Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings and by appointment. The Society’s 25-stop historic walking tour starts here.
